The Yangon Strike Force: A Movement to Defy Military Regime Administration

On August 16, Yangon-based mass strike groups announced the launch of the "Resisting Military Slave Administration Movement", calling on communities themselves to strongly oppose and defy the oppressive administrators in their own wards and villages, since ward/village administration mechanisms are a main pillar for the terrorist junta, which is failing on all fronts, in keeping control of cities.

The strike forces said ward/village administrators are the most important part of the junta's administrative and repressive machinery, playing a key role in everything from guest registration reports to compiling lists for unlawful military conscription, and that dismantling military slave administration in urban Yangon must start with ward/village administration. They therefore urged communities to strongly oppose and defy ward/village administrators, and to work together to report information about them to revolutionary forces, ostracize them, defy them, and impose social punishment to pressure them into resigning.
