Removal of junta-controlled human rights commission from APF
CSO Working Group on Independent National Human Rights Institution (Burma/Myanmar) issued an open letter on 18 September to Asia-Pacific Forum to remove Myanmar National Human Rights Commission appointed by the military junta.
The Forum is set to meet on 20-21 September in India in its annual meeting. The group called on the bloc to remove the junta-appointed commission from upcoming meetings since the various human rights violations committed by the junta went against the forum's rules.
