660 civil society organizations object to GPEDC and the Korean government inviting the military junta.
On November 29, 660 Myanmar civil organizations sent the open letter to the 2023 Busan Globan Partnership Forum and requested to withdraw the invitation of the representatives of terrorist group to the 2023 Busan Global Partnership Forum and show their support to the people of Myanmar.
The Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) has invited the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of the military group, and the forum will be held in Seoul, South Korea from December 5th to 6th.
In the open letter, U Kan Zaw, the minister of Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, has been sanctioned by the United States and the European Union, and the military group is making decisions on behalf of the people that are not in the interest of the people of Myanmar. Moreover, the open letter also stated that the Lotte Hotel group, which will host the forum, is a company involved in the regime's corrupt business network and the forum should not give political support and false legitimacy to the military group and recognize only the National Unity Government (NUG) elected by the people of Myanmar.
