Magway Interim Arrangement Drafting Commission Formed with Seven Groups
The Magway Federal Unit Hluttaw announced in a statement dated April 30 that, following the Federal Unit Hluttaw meeting on April 1 and its third special session on April 30, it formed the "Magway Federal Unit Interim Arrangement Drafting Commission" with nine members each from seven groups in the unit taking part in the Spring Revolution.
The seven groups are: (1) Hluttaw representatives elected in 2020; (2) political parties; (3) Chin ethnic people; (4) Taungtha and Yaw ethnic groups; (5) unions, women, youth and mass strike movement organizations; (6) CDM civil servants; and (7) representatives nominated by the resistance sector.
The Magway Federal Unit Hluttaw enacted the draft law on preparations for drafting the Magway Federal Unit Interim Arrangement as Law No. 1 on November 17, 2023, and a law amending it as Law No. 2 on March 4, 2024.
