Yaw Region People's Defence Force Permanently Dissolved
It was announced on March 2 that the Yaw Region People's Defence Force (YPDF) has been permanently dissolved, under a decision of the force's Central Executive Committee meeting (2/2025) held in the second week of February 2025, in order to move forward in a better direction.
The YPDF was formed in March 2021 to uproot military dictatorship, achieve federal democracy and protect the lives and property of the people of the Yaw region. The statement was issued in the name of Comrade Yaw Lay, Chair of the Central Executive Committee.
The statement said that, as the force had envisioned, awareness has now grown not only among revolutionary forces waging armed struggle in the region but also among the public that the time has come to pursue Yaw national politics in unity, and that all members will continue working to move the revolution and Yaw national politics forward in a better direction through a united platform.
