Pa-O Federal Council Announces Cooperation with PNLO
In a statement titled "Statement on the Situation in the Pa-O Region" issued on January 27, the Pa-O National Federal Council (PNFC) said it seriously welcomed and would cooperate with the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO)'s statement that it would "fight alongside fellow allied brothers until military dictatorship is ended and the federal democratic system the whole people long for is achieved."
The PNLO, a signatory of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), had issued a statement from its Central Committee on January 26 earnestly urging the Pa-O-named armed group operating under the military council's administration to switch to the path of national liberation. The PNFC also called on the PNO/PNA to cooperate in preventing conflict among the Pa-O, building on the unity already achieved.
