The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) (Kokang) Military Committee released a statement on September 4 titled "Statement on the Current National Situation, " clarifying its political stance. The statement firmly emphasized that the organization will not change its core political objective of striving for genuine autonomy. MNDAA also made it clear that they do not aim for secession, power seizure, or the establishment of a new independent state.

The statement, which was published on their Facebook page only on September 19th, further emphasized that the MNDAA's political redline is not to collaborate, associate, or form alliances with foreign entities that oppose either China or Myanmar. The statement declares that although they will not engage in military or political collaboration with the National Unity Government (NUG), expand military operations, or launch offensives against Mandalay or Taunggyi, they remain committed to their right to self-defense.

Additionally, the MNDAA has appealed to China to mediate in resolving the worsening situation in Myanmar. They also expressed that the MNDAA will immediately cease hostilities and actively cooperate in resolving conflicts through political negotiations and discussions.
