Myanmar Labour Alliance: NUG's China Policy Does Not Represent Us
On January 21, the Myanmar Labour Alliance (MLA) stated that "The National Unity Government's Position on China", issued by the NUG on January 1, does not represent its own policy and views.
The statement said the MLA objects because point 7 of the China policy declaration issued through the NUG Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which says the NUG "will safeguard the security of China's economic investments and other socio-economic enterprises", contradicts a provision of the strategy paper agreed in May 2022 by the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), of which the MLA is a member, and the NUG.
The statement also objects to the inclusion of the One China Policy as if it were Myanmar's national policy, since not all forces taking part in the Spring Revolution could agree to it as policy. It added that the MLA is ready for better discussion and exchange on these policies.
