Revolutionary forces occupied the Northeast Regional Command
Media reported that the Kokang army (MNDAA) issued a statement with photos confirming that it had fully captured the terrorist junta's Northeastern Regional Military Command headquarters in Lashio, northern Shan State, on the afternoon of August 3.
The MNDAA stated that the regional military command headquarters was fully captured that afternoon at the cost of bloodshed among frontline troops; that more than 470 wounded terrorist junta soldiers and family members had been abandoned at the headquarters' military hospital; and that they were moved to a safe place amid the heavy fighting in line with humanitarian principles and its prisoner-of-war policy.
The Bamar People's Liberation Army (BPLA) and the People's Liberation Army (PLA) also fought alongside the MNDAA in the battle for Lashio. The Northeastern Command is the first regional military command headquarters the terrorist junta has lost since the coup.
