Clarification from Salin People’s Administration Team: Not Associated with Death Penalty

NUG

On December 1, the public notice stated that the decision to execute U Sa, the alleged rapist and murderer that happened in Gon Nyin New village, Salin Township, Minbu District, Magway region, was made by the unanimous consent of Heineken, the humanitarian officer of the Salin Township, and was not related to the Township People’s Administration Team, and it was issued in the name of the Township People’s Administration Team Officer, Hnin Si.

After the CJ Platform news page posted a news titled “The Township People’s Administration Team executed the rapist and murderer in Salin due to the Delay process of NUG” on November 29, the Salin People’s Administration Team reissued with the name of a statement to the public.

CJ Platform reported this news after asking Ma Heineken and stated that on October 21, U Sa (42 years old) raped and killed a woman in the village between Myaung Thit and Gon Nyin Nwe village, which was dominated by the revolutionary forces. After the suspect was arrested on October 22, he confessed to committing the crime. The case was sent to the Justice Department of the National Unity Government (NUG) for further investigation and punishment, but because of the delay, on November 15th, the Salin Township People’s Administration Team sentenced the death penalty under Section 376/302 (a) of the Penal Code, and the perpetrator was detained till November 29.
