KNU to Collaborate with Thailand on Umphang Explosion Investigation
On December 14, the Central Standing Committee of the Karen National Union (KNU) stated that it would cooperate with Thai authorities in the investigation of the bombing at the annual Doi Loi Fa festival on December 13 in Umphang, Tak district, Thailand.
Four people were killed and 48 were injured in the explosion, and two suspects were arrested. The statement was issued after the Khaosad News Agency, citing Thai authorities, reported that one of the men was a member of the KNU.
In a statement, it mentioned that it shared its condolences with the families of the injured and condemned the perpetrators of such acts of violence.
